In such uncertain times, a lot of people are understandably worried about their employment prospects.

And with the current climate, you might assume job opportunities could be thin on the ground.

But there are a range of jobs available in and around Croydon in South London that you can apply for right now.

Fund Accountant

The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) protect millions of people in the UK who belong to defined pension schemes.

They are looking for a fund accountant to join their team and be responsible for contributing towards all financial accounting and control aspects of the PPFs investment portfolios.

The position will be liaising with multiple areas inside and outside of the organisation and responsibilities will include the reconciliation and administration of investment portfolios on a daily basis, administer cash payment, review fund manager expenses and investigate and analyse daily performance reporting queries.

Their Croydon office is just across the road from East Croydon station.

The successful candidate needs to be “organised, together and who able to react and deal with problems as they arise”.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of between £50,875 – £55,000 per year.

A communications business has an immediate need for cable pullers.

They offer initial and ongoing training for the right applicant who meets the following requirements:

  • Full UK driving license, with good driving experience
  • Physically fit, able to cope with performing small groundworks activities
  • DBS check will be conducted before starting in the field
  • Travelling to different residences in London and installing cables to properties

Reception Class Teacher

A recruitment agency is advertising for a Qualified Reception Class Teacher for an Ofsted “RI” Primary school in Croydon, South London.

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis with an annual salary of between £30,000 and £46,000.

The required experience, training and qualifications are:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year Key Stage 1 or 2 teaching experience in the UK
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
  • Recent DBS
  • Satisfactory references

An automotive recruitment agency is looking for an experienced Parts Advisor, ideally with franchise dealership experience.

The role involves dealing with both retail and trade customers to source the right parts, working closely with the service manager and service department.

Located in Croydon on a full time, permanent basis with a salary in the range of £22,000 and £27,000 plus benefits.

Class 1 Driver

Manpower is looking for a Class 1 Driver to work for the Royal Mail Centre in Croydon, moving packets and letters around the country.

The role is primarily based in Croydon but they are looking for individuals with a flexible, can-do attitude with a willingness to work at other sites in Southern England on occasion.

Requirements are that the applicant should hold a Class 1 driving license and have digital tacho and CPC qualification cards. Ideally, with at least two year’s experience of driving Class 1 vehicles in the UK; however, exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis following discussion.

All drivers regardless of length of experience will have to undergo a driving assessment.

This is advertised as a temporary full-time contract with a salary of between £12.50 and £15.50 per hour.
